Whether you are hosting the wedding for your only daughter, a fabulous party for your friends or a corporate event or fundraiser for colleagues, you want to make it perfect. And, an experience that no one will forget.
As someone who has done 1,000s of events, I can say one way to ensure success is to choose the right entertainment and outline how it fits into your event. Below are a few tips on how to do just that.
- Do not settle. The average customer only buys a band once or twice in their lifetime. Be sure you have exactly what you want.
Prioritize your budget. Determine the importance of entertainment against other elements and spend accordingly. - Understand your goals. Share your event goals – a great band will gladly modify their show to suit your needs.
- Lay it out. Proper placement of stage, dance floor, tables etc. can be critical to success.
- Know the flow. Create an entertainment timeline so it’s clear which type of entertainment supports each event element – from cocktails to after-party.
- Select your songs. Be sure your favs are played by working with the band ahead of time.
- Stay connected. Keep communication lines open – asking to speak to the bandleader before you sign your contract may help you make the right entertainment selection.
