I recently attended Paul Simon’s concert at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. At age 74, Paul is on tour with an innovative new album to be released in June. The album was produced by 82 year-old Ray Halee, who also produced the Simon and Garfunkel albums. Paul is an artist who has continued to push the boundaries of music, and has continued to re-invent himself throughout his career. He and his 9-piece multi-instrumentalist band, performed songs that have become part of the American musical landscape and, for many of us, the songs of our lives. To be in the presence of such an artist, at the top of his game, was inspiring and humbling.

The Fox Theater is where Prince gave his last performance. I was reminded as I sat in that beautiful venue, what a gift we have been given to have these wonderful stars come across our lives. The great work they have done will continue to have a life of its own for years to come. Prince and Paul Simon are superstars and, for both, it’s all about the music. They are masters at what they do, and they have enriched the world with their creations.

Artists like these are called stars for a reason. They shoot across the sky. They are much brighter than the other stars.  You have to be on the lookout to see one. When you, do you’ll never forget it. And it might just change your life.

We are fortunate to have many great stars among us. I encourage you to see as many as you can. We never know when they will fly across the sky and be gone.
