The New Year is a reminder to us that the clock is ticking. It’s a time to set goals for the coming year. And, it’s also a time to reflect on the past year.

It has been quite a year for us at National Party Bands™. Big Swing and the Ballroom Blasters® performed with Pit Bull for Go Daddy in Hawaii. Simply Irresistible® performed for the Guardsmen in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Jessie’s Girls® spent New Year’s Eve in Doha, Qatar in the Persian Gulf. Party On The Moon® had the honor to perform with Jay Leno for Ted Turner’s 75th birthday party.

And, it didn’t stop there. We added Perfect Ten Band and Life Of The Party to our roster.  Perfect Ten Band finished a new video and Simply Irresistible had a live video shoot this past December. Both videos will be rolled out this month. Big Swing And The Ballroom Blasters will shoot a new live video in January, which will feature the 23-piece version of the band with a string section. We began shooting a documentary film which includes all National Party Bands.  All of our bands had a record-breaking year.

Even though the clock is ticking, I believe that time is on our side. When we have a goal to create something that matters to us, and take steps toward that goal, time helps us. Creating a career as we have with Party On The Moon has been a 10-year journey. And, the journey will continue.

In today’s fast-paced world, many of us have lost appreciation for the time and work it takes to create something of value. Remember, great artists, sports stars and inventors spend years perfecting their skills. To see progress, I suggest looking at longer time frames – maybe two to three years. It’s also good to track your progress over time.

I feel blessed to have a career that I love. It has been a wonderful journey to be part of the National Party Band™ family. I’m proud that we are regarded as the best in the business. And, I am really looking forward to the New Year. I know there are ways to improve our shows and our customer service, and I’m excited to discover them.

We all have a chance to look at our lives and goals anew in 2014. I encourage you to do what you care about. Do your best and let time help you. Remember, also, to be patient with yourself. Time is on your side.

I wish you health, happiness and success in 2014. Happy New Year!
