Four days before Party on the Moon’s® show for the famous Indy 500 Snake Pit Ball, Josh Kaufman wins the 2014 The Voice Competition. Indianapolis is home for Josh. Steve Gerardi, president of SG Entertainment, Inc., called me and asked if Josh could perform with Party On The Moon at the Ball. Josh was riding in the Indy 500 Parade, and was rushed over to our sound check at 2:00 p.m. I have had the honor to meet many performers and, I must say, Josh Kaufman is one of the nicest and most humble guys you’ll ever meet. He was very flexible with POTM’s arrangements, and I could not have been more proud of the way all our band members reached out to make him feel at home.

The second half of the Snake Pit Ball show began with Josh and Nicha performing a duet singing the hit song “Happy.” The crowd went crazy! Then, Josh nailed a cool arrangement of John Legends’ “All Of Me,” written by Earl, our keyboardist and Jeff, our vocalist, and we ended his segment with Stevie Wonder’s “Signed Sealed Delivered.”

It was a world-class performance in front of Josh’s hometown fans. I love this business! You never know who’s going to call or where the next performance will take you. Josh was quoted as saying, “The destination is the journey.” This is a great reminder for all of us to take in the special moments we have in our lives. There are some great photos of Josh on stage with the band on POTM’s Facebook page. Be sure to check them out!
