Most of us will be focused on giving to those special people we care about this holiday season. We have all heard, “It is better to give than receive.” But, sometimes, receiving can be a powerful thing. I encourage you this holiday season to not only focus on giving, but also to reflect and give thanks for all the opportunities and gifts you’ve received this year.
In the movie “A Christmas Carol”, Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. He is guided through his life and sees the good, the bad and the ugly. He realizes how fortunate and blessed his life has been, and decides to take the opportunity to change. Scrooge receives a fresh start. On Christmas Day, Scrooge’s heart is changed. He received the ultimate gift, the chance to make a difference in the life of those around him and the world.
We, like Scrooge, have a chance to look at our life anew each holiday season. You have the chance in 2013 to make a difference. Keep me posted, and let me know what you’re doing.
