We are thrilled to write that our Winter Haven Hospital partner raised more than $620,000 at its recent annual gala! And, we are even more thrilled that they have seen their proceeds rise year over year since they brought music onto the scene.
The Gala, which has been held for 23 years, is designed to give back to the community in a variety of ways. Prior to 2005, the Gala’s entertainment was a nationally recognized speaker. To raise the fun meter at its events, the Gala association opted to transform its event into a total sensory experience for their guests by switching the entertainment to national musical acts. With this move, the Gala tripled its gross /net in the first year and it has consistently broken new records in fundraising and attendance since.
We were very proud to perform at the 2012 Gala. And thankful for the kind note sent to us from Joel Thomas, entertainment committee member, Winter Haven Hospital. Here is a short excerpt we’d like to share. “ Party on the Moon… was by far the best act we have ever had at the Gala. Dennis and the whole POTM group are some of the finest vocal and instrumental talent I have ever seen perform (at the Gala or anywhere else). I kid you not, when the band hit the stage I knew we had hit a homerun… stunning, exciting.. game over.”
Truthfully, nothing brings me more joy than when music can contribute to helping those in need.
